Unique Perspectives

“Composing, performing and directing music have allowed me to view music in many different lights, gaining unique perspectives that span a wide range of musical avenues that I apply in my lessons. It is my hope that my students find these perspectives useful when understanding their own music, so that they may experience the reward and joy of progress and expression.”

Music Education

“As a graduate of Carleton University, I have a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance with honors in composition. I've studied piano for approximately 18 years within the Royal Conservatory of Music curriculum completing my grade 8 certification, receiving First Class Honors for each of my examination results, with additional post-secondary studies in grade 9, 10 and ARCT Royal Conservatory repertoire and technique.”

Lesson Details

Students will learn practical knowledge of piano performance like how to read music, keyboard technique including scales and chords, as well as ear training and stylistic conventions; young students will benefit from concepts like pattern recognition, counting and rhythm all while developing fine motor skills. Lesson programs can range from Alfred’s Basic Piano Library all the way The Royal Conservatory of Music covering genres such as classical, jazz and more.

Teaching Philosophy

Being a musician isn't just something you do, it's something you are. Every individual has a deep, personal connection with music that lives within them, and as a music teacher my fundamental aim is striving to help them hear and express it in each their own way.
